Description
Lamp Purple Art Nouveau is hand-crafted, mouth-blown from molten glass. From 1100 degrees centigrade, where the molten glass sits until we conjure it out & onto our pipe. In this series, the bar of “Amethyst Blueish” was picked up from inside the annealer where it has already reached 520 degrees. A bubble is blown, and a second gather is collected over the top Now the piece can be blown into the shape After blowing it out a little more, shaping, blowing, tooling, and reheating all the while, thrusting it into the intense flame. Now we can “Puntie-Up” and open the vessel. Once the desired shape is reached, we “knock it off” and add our maker’s mark with a flash of fire to finish. It is put away to relax in 520 degrees Celsius heat- called the annealing process, which takes a further 12 hours.
Lamp Purple Art Nouveau was made by glass artists Faerie Fleur & James Alexander, in our hot shop at Tamborine Mountain. We love blowing glass and take great pride in creating such works for you. Do you want to know a little secret? Once you have tried glassblowing for yourself, you will see the magic that comes together in the moments of making your own piece. It really is exhilarating when you finish a piece and get to “put it away”.
We truly appreciate your support, Thank you.
