Wave Glass Sculpture – Made in Australia by talented Aussie glass artist Faerie Fleur.
Taking the molten glass from the Raku clay pot, known as the Crucible at 1100 degrees Celsius. Collecting the glass onto our pipe, rolling the molten glass into the color, and begin manipulating the molten glass to form the design. This is done using different tools, like tweezers, or rake, making each bauble completely unique. Then blowing, tooling and reheating the glass, by thrusting it into the intense flames.
Once everything is in place and is looking good, it is cut from the base, and heat treated at the break off point. So much fun to make! To avoid thermal shock, each piece is put into the Annealer which ensures your glass art, is durable enough to last a lifetime. Try making glass baubles yourself with us here at Tamborine Glassblowing. It is an amazing experience!
